Asset and Attack Surface Management generally takes into account the continuous discovery, inventory, classification, and monitoring of an organization’s IT assets. The attack surface is made up of all the points of access that an unauthorized person could use to enter the system. In this model the view of your resources is from the attacker’s perspective. In this series, we will look at how we can gain visibility into our assets and attack surface so we can put in place a better layered structure of defense and control. We will look at this model through a risk-management perspective.
